This is my second order of Timothy's Coffee Pods, and last time I ordered the Hazelnut flavor, which was not available this time around.



Here is what I love about this product:



1. They are in individual, foil sealed packets. I am single and do not drink enough coffee to keep the open container fresh. And they look great in the basket...



2. The flavor of the coffee is exactly what I like...warm and flavorful. I do not like strong coffee. I do not like bitter coffee. I add cream and sugar to my coffee. I am not a coffee snob. But my guests seem to like it too.



3. Here at Amazon, I can buy in bulk and have it delivered to my door. Two nice boxes of coffee. Sealed for flavor. Ready when I am.



The price is a little more than at the stores for the small packages, but the flavors are limited at the store and the convenience factor is not there.

I have been using senseo coffee pods for the past 4 years, and after reading some reviews about the weight of senseo coffee pods (less than 7g) and this coffee pods (10g each), I have decided to give this a try. I was hoping to use this pod to create a 8oz coffee (since this pod has 3g more than senseo). However, it has no flavor at all (taste like water). So I started to use it to create 4 oz coffee (hoping to get a better result). In my opinion, it still has no flavor. If you are a senseo coffee pods regular user like me, and want to save some money using a bigger pod, this is probably not a choice for you. Amazon do not take grocery return, so you won't be able to return it (now I am stuck with 50 pods I don't like).

When I saw the item listed as 80 T-Discs of espresso for under $50, I was skeptical. I had to take the chance though... and I'm glad I did. Now I have a supply of espresso T-Discs so I can add a double shot to my latte or capuccino. It works great!



So if you're like me and you like a stronger latte or capuccino, or you like to make a black eye coffee (add a shot of espresso to your coffee), then this is a great bargain. There's no need to pay over a dollar for each T-Disc.

The water blows right past the pod... would be great if you enjoyed coffee-scented warm water! I ordered these for my Krups Home Cafe Pod coffee maker. Even though they look totally different from the Baronet pods I've been using, I thought I would try one, which was a big mistake. The pod leaked grounds into the machine and clogged it up. It took quite a while to clean it out. I don't see anything on the Amazon description that would have alerted me to the fact that these pods don't work in some machines. I know someone else said they used it in a Senseo, but the Senseo I had before I got the Krups used the same size pods as the Krups (60 mm). I hope Amazon will take them back!!

These pods are smaller so they fit perfectly in the Senseo 2-cup holder with the large Wolfgang Puck coffees. If you only use one pod it will make a very weak cup of coffee. For some reason the pod does not fit very well and water goes past the pods and into your cup, thus making a weak cup of coffee. I find that if you wet the pod under tap water before you put the pod in the holder it works better. If you like weak coffee the pods will be fine. If you want normal coffee you need to use two pods in the the larger pod holder, but this can be expensive per cup of coffee. I guess I would like to know what coffee machine that uses pods this coffee is made for? The only pods that seem to work are the senseo brand pods, which I will not guy because of expense. We go through 15 cups or so of coffee a day in our household and it just becomes to expensive to use two pods for every cup. Time to go back to my Bunn Coffee maker.

Oh dear.... the reviewers here have some issues. For those poor sods that just can't get it to fit, I suggest practicing with this first: Senseo Practice



For the rest of you:

1. This works in a standard Senseo. It's a tight fit, but I've been using them for a couple months now and have had no problems.



2. You should pre-wet the pods until the filter paper becomes *slightly* translucent... maybe 2-3 seconds per side. (You will get better coffee by pre-wetting ANY pod, but it's especially important with these.)



3. DON'T USE THE DOUBLE POD HOLDER! Does this look like two pods to you? If so, call AA. If you use the double pod holder you will get WEAK coffee because a lot of water will travel AROUND the pod rather than through it. USE THE SINGLE POD HOLDER. Duh.



4. Center the pod as perfectly as possible in the SINGLE holder and press it down with your hand. When you close the machine push down on the top firmly while locking the handle.



This coffee is strong, but not bitter at all. Truly a wonderful blend!

Since these are advertised as "Specially designed for One Cup Pod coffeemakers", I'd like to know to which coffee makers they are referring. I do not want to spend any time pre-wetting my $800/lb coffee pods. I want to toss it in and push the button. Period. And these DO NOT WORK. Cutting pods open, messing with refillable pods, etc defeats the purpose of having what is supposed to be a simple coffee brewer. Timothy's is not worth the trouble.

Bought these Lavazza Gran Crema Espresso Pods after purchasing a Delonghi EC155 Espresso Machine. This was my first dabble in homemade Espresso and I figured the pods would be easier to start with. I mainly drink Lattes/Cappuccinos so I don't know how the pure Espresso is supposed to taste, but it has a good crema. After I put the pod in the holder I give it a little tamp with the tamper that came with the machine and it works great every time. I purchased the 150-count box and actually received 172 in the box...Bonus!

I use the Lavazza Espresso Gran Crema in a Delonghi espresso machine and it tastes wonderful. The Crema is great and rich. These did not work in my older Gaggia machine. My Delonghi has a special O ring on the inside of the holder that prevents the water from going to the side and by passing the pod. Basically any pod would do great in this machine. I recommend using only filtered water in all machines. The setiment in water can cause alot of headaches even with regular cleaning. I just signed up for a subscribtion of and save 15%, a great deal for 150 pods. The taste compares well with our local coffee shops.

I have been using Senseo for years and I love it. I saw that they came out with these new Espresso pods and thought, "Why not? The darker the better." So...I ordered them and I have thoroughly enjoyed them. Actually, even as I write this review I am drinking a cup using one of the pods. Of course it's not toally like a "real" espresso, but it's strong, bold, and makes me think twice about stopping at a coffe place rather than just coming home to make my own.

The Senseo coffee maker produces excellent coffee provided one uses third party pods rather than Senseo pods. I strongly prefer Fratello, Millstone or Halo pods which seem to have richer, more robust flavors. The Senseo pods generally produce weak coffee, in part because they do not contain enough coffee. The above brands all fit in the Senseo maker despite containing more coffee in each pod. The Senseo Espresso pods are only ok, better than some Senseo pods.

I've tried them all, and by far, Espressione 100% Arabica is exquisite. The pods are so easy to use in my espresso maker, and they literally last forever. I found a batch that had expired in 2006, and they brewed up just like new. Superb!

We've ordered two of these boxes and I'm about to get a third. At home, I use Illy loose grounds exclusively and do all the measuring and tamping and whatnot myself so I can feel all Barista-ey. But in our second home, we use these pods. They stay fresh, there's no mess, there's no fuss, and they taste great. Get the 100% Arabica verion; it's worth the extra few bucks.

Both the 100% Arabica and the Espressione Espresso are excellent for espresso drinks. Traditionally espresso, unlike good drip coffee, is made with a mix of Arabica and Robusta coffees. The taste differences are noticeable, but I don't have a strong favorite. I use the pods for convenience, although I also roast my own green beans for espresso as well.



If you look at the negative reviews, they're mostly on the "best before" dates being passed. While I would also be upset to spend money and get "expired" pods, I should point out that the pods are good for quite some time after their nominal expiration dates. I just found a handful of these Espressione Classic pods with 2002 (this is late 2009 now) dates and they made acceptable, though not spectacular espresso. Basically they're vacuum packed and not much is happening inside the wrapper.

We love this so much we go through a carton every two months. Autoship saves us 15% so that's even better. We've been using them with an Espressione machine since 2005.
